Precautions for using LiFePO4 battery

 

1. Charging precautions

 

If you find that the battery has not turned on after 10 hours of continuous charging, you should stop charging immediately and check whether the temperature of the battery is hot. If yes, it should be sent for repair as soon as possible. If it cannot be sent for repair immediately, the total charging time should be controlled to no more than 8 hours, otherwise the battery will be damaged due to expansion and deformation.

 

2. Pay attention to charging frequency

 

Because LiFePO4 battery have no memory effect, lithium batteries can theoretically be charged at any time. The charging frequency of lithium batteries still depends on the specific usage of the battery. Because lithium batteries can store more energy, they can be used longer. For products like this that can be used for a long time, people generally do not charge them frequently, so the charging frequency of lithium batteries is not too high.

 

The specific frequency of charging depends on the usage of the LiFePO4 battery. When the voltage drops to the point where it issues a warning, it needs to be charged as soon as possible. 3. Discharge precautions

4. Precautions when using the charger

 

Proper and reasonable charging is very beneficial to extending the life of the battery pack, while brutal and random charging will have a great impact on the battery life.

 

For LiFePO4 battery chargers, it is best to use the special chargers provided by the manufacturer. Do not use other chargers of other models or with inappropriate charging voltage. If the original charger is broken, it is best to buy the original model charger. The original model is always more suitable and safer.

 

5. Pay attention to the use environment

 

The ambient temperature of the LiFePO4 battery must be suitable. The charging temperature of the lithium battery is 0℃~45℃, and the discharge temperature of the lithium battery is -20℃~60℃. It should be in a clean, dry and ventilated environment, avoid contact with corrosive substances, and keep away from fire and heat sources.

 

6. Storage precautions

 

Different battery charging states have different aging effects. The more fully charged the battery is, the more severe its capacity loss will be. Therefore, for lithium battery packs that will be idle, it is recommended that the charging level be 40%.
