Gel battery
The gel lead-acid battery is an improvement of the common lead-acid battery with liquid electrolyte, replacing the sulfuric acid electrolyte with gel electrolyte, which improves the safety, power storage, discharge performance and service life compared with the common battery.
Colloidal lead-acid battery adopts gel electrolyte, no free liquid inside, large electrolyte capacity in the same volume, large thermal capacity, strong thermal dissipation ability, can avoid the general battery prone to thermal runaway phenomenon; electrolyte concentration is low, the corrosion effect on the pole plate is weak; concentration is uniform, no electrolyte stratification phenomenon.
Lead-acid battery
The electrode is mainly made of lead and its oxide, and the electrolyte is a kind of battery of sulfuric acid solution. English: Lead-acidbattery. in the discharged state, the main component of the positive electrode is lead dioxide, the negative electrode is mainly composed of lead; in the charged state, the main component of both positive and negative electrodes is lead sulfate. It is divided into exhaust type battery and maintenance-free lead-acid battery.
Difference between gel battery and lead-acid battery
Colloidal lead-acid battery and ordinary lead-acid battery are the same in performance, except that the electrolyte inside the battery is a semi-solid state of latex, and a liquid state, the liquid state of ordinary lead-acid battery needs to be maintained by adding distilled water from time to time during use, and the colloidal one does not need to be maintained by adding distilled water (usually called maintenance-free).
The disadvantage of colloidal lead-acid battery is that overload charging and discharging is very harmful, once overload charging and discharging will cause unrecoverable battery, even scrap, while ordinary lead-acid batteries need to be overloaded resulting in plate deformation and sulfuration can be restored by small current charging and discharging.
