1. How to determine the installation method of the battery? Why is it best to use horizontal positioning for tall batteries and vertical positioning for low batteries?

 

Vertical placement of tall batteries can easily lead to stratification of the electrolyte inside the battery. After a long time of storage, the sulfuric acid density of the upper layer becomes thinner, and the density of the lower layer of sulfuric acid becomes thicker, thus forming a concentration difference micro-battery. This will lead to serious self-discharge of the battery for a long time and shorten the battery life.

 

The battery with a tall design should be installed horizontally to avoid electrolyte stratification during use. When installing, the installation area and ground load are mainly considered. Users can choose two-story, four-story and eight-story installation methods according to the battery placement area. If the ground load permits, choosing four-story or eight-story installation can save occupancy. The ground area, this method is more suitable for the battery to be placed on the first floor or the basement. For the situation where there is enough area but the ground load-bearing capacity is poor, the second-floor method should be used for installation.

 

Low-profile batteries are much less likely to have electrolyte stratification, and vertical placement will effectively reduce the possibility of battery leakage, so low-profile batteries should be placed upright.

The installation of the battery pack should reserve space for installation and maintenance and inspection channels according to the actual situation.

2. What items need to be checked frequently during the operation and maintenance of the battery?

(3) Whether the battery case has leakage and deformation;

(4) Whether there is acid mist overflowing around the pole of the battery and the safety valve.

 

3. Some newly installed batteries have a large pressure difference, will it affect the use?

For a newly installed battery, after a certain period of floating charging operation, the floating charging voltage will tend to be uniform, because the saturation of the sulfuric acid just used is high, and the gas recombination efficiency is poor, and the saturation will drop slightly after operation, and the floating charging voltage of the battery will also be uniform .

 

4. What are the reasons for the uneven battery voltage during the long-term floating charge operation of the battery?

At present, there is a phenomenon of uneven floating charge voltage in VRLA batteries, which is caused by the accumulation of errors in the quality, quantity and content of accessories and materials used in various links of battery production. It will affect the sulfuric acid saturation inside the battery, which directly affects the recombination of oxygen during the float charge of the battery, so that the overpotential of the battery during float charge is different, and the float charge voltage of the battery is also different. However, after a certain period of floating charging operation of VRLA batteries, the floating charging voltage will tend to be uniform. Because the oxygen recombination efficiency of the battery with high sulfuric acid saturation is poor, the saturation is slightly reduced, and the floating voltage of the battery tends to be uniform.

 

In addition, the voltage drop of the connection bar of the battery in series is large; the contact between the pole and the connection bar is poor; the new battery may have unevenness within three to six months of operation.

 

5. When the battery is floating charging, how to judge the lagging battery?

The terminal voltage of the lagging battery is low during discharge, so the lagging battery should be measured in the discharge state. If the terminal voltage is the lowest in three consecutive discharge cycles, it can be judged as a lagging battery in the group. If there is a lagging battery, deal with it Battery pack equalization charge. For example, for a battery in a floating charge state, attention should be paid if the floating charge voltage is lower than 2.16V.

 

6. The battery sometimes swells slightly, will it affect the battery use?

Due to the internal pressure in the battery, the battery case has a small degree of bulging. On the one hand, the manufacturer should pay attention to the opening pressure of the safety valve so that the internal pressure of the battery will not be too large, and choose the appropriate case material and case thickness. ; On the other hand, the user should perform normal maintenance on the battery to avoid overcharging and thermal runaway.

 

7. After the battery is discharged, how long does it usually take to fully charge it?

The time required for a fully charged battery after discharge varies with the discharge capacity and initial charging current. For example, if the battery is discharged at a rate of 10 hours and the discharge depth is 100%, after the battery is charged for 24 hours through "constant voltage and current limiting" and "constant current and voltage limiting", the charged power can reach more than 100%.
