China's national standard limits the battery voltage of two-wheeled electric vehicles to 48V, but different models have completely different cruising ranges. The main reason is the difference in the battery model.
So, how far can the different battery models go?
Let's take the most common 48V12Ah, 48V20Ah, 48V32Ah electric vehicles as examples.
According to Chinese national standards, two-wheeled electric vehicles are basically equipped with motors of about 400W.
Therefore, we can do the following simple calculations to find that the average current at a constant speed is about 8.30A
Motor Power/Voltage = Average Current at Constant Speed
400W(VA) / 48V = 8.3A
So the theoretical driving time is calculated to be about 1.45h
Battery capacity / current = theoretical driving time
12Ah / 8.3A = 1.45h
In addition, due to the road speed limit, the speed of electric vehicles is about 25km/h, so it can be calculated that the battery life of 48V12Ah electric vehicles is about 36km
That is, theoretical driving time * speed per hour = cruising range
1.45h * 25km/h = 36km
48V20Ah battery
In the case of the same motor and speed, through the above calculation logic, we can conclude that the average current at a constant speed is also 8.3A, the theoretical driving time is 2.4h, and the cruising range is about 60km
48V32Ah battery
In the case of the same motor and speed, the average current at a constant speed is also 8.3A, the theoretical driving time is 3.8h, and the cruising range is about 95km
Through the above simple calculation,
48V12Ah = 36km
48V20Ah = 60km
48V32Ah = 95km
However, in the actual driving process, because different electric vehicles have different accessories, loads, tire designs, etc., there may be differences in the cruising range of different vehicles. In addition, usage habits and maintenance habits will also affect the final mileage.
