Mainly there are two types of shape of battery plates, the Flat plate and Tubular plate.

The electric energy of a battery (capacity AH) comes from the active material holding on positive plates (PAM) and negative plates (NAM). The active material are composited with chemicals and additives, and to be pasted on the flat grids commonly by using double-side pasting technology (for Flat plates).

The grids are the carrier of PAM and NAM. Traditionally the grids are produced by gravity casting in nets/meshes, then the active material would be pasted on the nets and form a battery plate. The strength and structure of the grid becomes quite important, it determines the volume of active material to be hold more or less, thus to determine the battery capacity AH, high or low. --- We are glad to announce, GEM plate engineering has cooperated with battery R&D to design and develop new type of grids featured with high-power-containing capability. The Wave Grid, a new type of grid for making flat plates but with waving structure.

The waving grids are expected to be thicker and stronger, born to be a heavy-loading carrier of active materials. The plates formed by waving grids are thick and pasted with exceeding volume of active material, supporting the batteries to reach a remarkable high capacity as well as an expected longer service life. We receive the news of success after approximately 7 months research-design-sampling-analysis-conclusion-trial-production, the development project last more than half year started in Aug 2014 and finished in Feb 2015.
